The basis of project is the beneficence. This engine promote the common good and the my website promote the science and the education. 

What is this?

The metronome thermoacoustic heat engine is a new invention. It is completely free patent for humanity! Mostly it can be used to generate electricity. This is an external heated heat engine therefore it can work from any heat source, such as solar energy, geothermal, or fissile material or other conventional fossil fuels. If conventional fuels are used, much less soot and other pollutants are produced.

The engine is very serious competitor for solar panels and other alternative energy technologies, 
but I need your help to the development and dissemination. 

What is the different, newness? 

"We do not start to use a technology when it is invented, and  when we have a desperately need on it, only when it can be cheap enough."

Why this is better than the other engines, for example the stirling, the manson or other thermoacoustic application? 

This engine has simpler structure, easier and cheaper to produce, from less material and it is almost indestructible. The efficiency and the performance are perhaps better also!
I think this is the best hot-air engine in the world!

What is the aim of the thermoacoustic metronome heat engine project?

Big manufacturers did not reply to my letters, but perhaps this project can help me to break through this wall too.

So now my project aim is to create a very simple and cheap engine that is able to charge a mobilephone from a small heat source (1-2 tea candle) and this can be built easily by anyone. The description will be available free of charge to anyone on my website.

- disaster or crisis-torn environments,
- weekend homes,
- shelters.
- ranches

Thermoacoustic Metronome Engine compared to other similar hot air engines:

The conventional stirling engines have a crank structure. 
Metronome does not have crank structure, or it can be more simpler.

The free piston stirling engine does not have the structure of a crank, but has two pistons and those are moved in each other. The pistons require mass.
Metronome has only one physical piston and it does not require mass, The other piston is made only from air and  moving part of engine is only one block.

Manson engine also has only one piston, moving part is also one block, but has a valve too, and it can cause problems. In addition, engine does not do a gas compression and rarefaction.
Metronome does not have any valve and it does a gas compression and rarefaction too.

The thermoacoustic engines have only one moving membrane, but those can be only in small size  because of in large size it has hard and expensive the heating and cooling.
To membrane of metronome is attached the displacer, but  engine does not have problem the heating and cooling.

How does engine work?
The top of engine is cool and is heated at the bottom.
Metal wool plug moves up and down in the engine, and blows the air. When metal wool plug  is up the air is down and vice versa. When the air heats up it expands and causes a more pressure. The expansion of air is with an impact the membrane and air in the tube. The membrane has much greater surface as air in the tube. So effect is greater on the membran and smaller on the air (piston) in the tube. The membrane lifts with more and more force metal wool plug because more and more air heats up and it increases the pressure. Metal wool plug stops at top of house and in the tube the gas behaves like a piston and the momentum takes it out further. So air piston creates a vacuum in the house, and membrane moving turns inwardly. Now the membrane pushes with more and more force the metal wool plug down because more and more air cools down and it  causes a vacuum. Movement of the air piston turns inwardly also. Metal wool plug stops at the bottom of house and air piston momentum causes a more pressure. The cycle is repeated again and again.

Metronome heat engine
This engine is mixture ringbom and manson engine (and thermoacoustic engine)!This engine is similar as ringbom or free piston stirling engine because have two piston. But the wider piston is the power piston, the thinner is only governing piston! Thus this is engine similar as manson engine too, because the power piston moves the displacer. Engine cycle is similar as manson cycle, but there is not valve on it instead governing piston performs  a gas compression and rarefaction ((with 90-degree phase shift))
Governing piston can be made from solid, liquid and gas piston ( gasturbine or gas piston)

Since the piston are in a reverse ratio as in the free piston striling engine, so the governor piston can be do from only air.

Thermoacoustic metronome heat engine
is similar as thermoacoustic heat engines too because governing piston is made  from gas piston (0.5 -5 meters tube). Thermoacoustic Metronome Heat Engine is between the free piston stirling and the thermoacoustic engines.

At the material and technology of use we must strive for the simplicity much as possible!
I think we can simplify the current technology in an incredible extent while the efficient and performance of the engine will not be much worse!
Piston from only a membrane:
-The piston strokes of a free-piston engine (the factory) are so small that they could do it from a membrane too. Indeed, the models lessons learned that the membrane is not worse than solid piston .. The highly sensitive ultra LTD engines generally has a membrane also, while who builders these engines they have easy access to the graphite piston too. On that basis, I think the membrane is a good way ..

-heat exchangers:
It is possible that the heat exchanger is not required! It is possible that a small gap is in fact useful, between the cylinder and regenerator displacer. We need not to strive for this small gap eliminated, because some  gas flow through it but meanwhile this gas regenerate and do an heat connection also between to piston and cylinder. In addition this gap can ensure that  friction can not be. It is possible that solving of factory engines is an unnecessary and mistake!

Displacer making: 
This engine is very sensitive on the displacer . The engine soul is the displacer (steel wool plug). This part can be the harder to build. If we imagine a ten-point quality scale displacer and You make only a 2 quality displacer then engine will not work only from a big flame. If you make 5-6 quality displacer, engine could provide electricity for 40 leds. I can not do better than 5-6 , but the my goal is a 9-10... I think lot of man is more skillful than me... I have tried solid displacer and partly solid one. But I see the full steel wool displacer the best, but this has the trick also. 

When we is doing the displacer let us be cautious, because the micro and nano metal fibers are dangerous if those are inhaled. Therefore, you have to use a mask and work in the outdoors.  I show it to you:

To build an (5-6) experiment displacer:
Now I've done it. I take two 9cm jam jar lids. I cut out jam jar lids, one of them so that it was be only a ring, the other so that I let a center of a  small circle, which remained a linkage 4 parts with the ring. then I glued on those strips with silicone . You can cut strips example from a beer can. These jam jar lid rings must be almost as wide than the cylinder, that the air can not avoid the displacer (and in it regenerator). Now air must go through on displacer (regenerator).  I will do these with help a cylinder. I cut off plates from beer cans and those I glued on  these rings with silicone, so I got a cylinder, which just does not rub on the house cylinder. Displacer cylinder top will be which I let a center and here displacer cylinder connect to membrane.  The displacer length is adjusted to the stroke what the membrane will allow. Here about 17mm will be the stroke. Displacer will be 17mm shorter than the  house cylinder. You can fill this displacer cylinder from below  and try different better and worse steel wools regenerators. 
Finer steel wool material can be burned from large heat and will go in dust but too thick is not so good. It will be good what can not be burned (and not dusty) but finer. 
I tear up the steel wool material and I make a loose stacks.  Then I knead a hank from this stacks and I push it in the displacer cylinder. How much it need to knead? This is the hardest. I think it is even when just light can not go through the regenerator. But you will other experience and you make a better regenerator (= more powerful engine) than me. Like as I do here:

 Membrane diameter of 46% of the house cylinder diameter! Membrane must be slightly loose.
 You do not worth to do thinner  house cylinder (engine) than beer can, because the thinner of the engine need much more heating.

First, I made my coil based on this website
and I bought a such 30 x 5 mm neodymium magnet.

My first attempt was not good, because wire was too thick. So I use with a thin wire and more round at next coil (about 20mm x 5mm x 0,25), and it was good! However, the engine works easily therefore I felt it could produce more energy. I tried one coil with two magnets but it was not good also. So I had to make another separate coil, and I connect more LED on them (20-20). 
Now 2 coils provided 40 LED  but the light of  those was small weaker.

If you want only light leds you do not need any electronics. Leds must be even number, and parallel and you must connect them to coil with opposite polarity. But thus leds will blink.. If you charge something you need a electronics.
However, such chinese tea candles the flame is uneven, sometimes reduced whole bit, or even go stop operating by itself, sometimes flame is high  (1.5 cm) . At this time engine could run with 3 coils too..

I do not it is good or bad, that inertia of gas piston will not increase. Example the air is better then water...  

I put together about 60-70 cm long pipe pieces so I can adjust the length. Adjustable tube you can do from paper sheet roll also... More on the picture. If wrong size of the tube the engine does not work .. about diameter: 12mm

I did a three times larger, a very wrong machine. What is interesting  that the with 12mm diameter tube does not want to start, only 20mm .

Azért ezt a videót raktam be, hogy lássátok, zárva is működik, tehát nyomás alá is helyezhető lenne.
100 forintos boltokba lehet kapni 290 forintért ilyen rozsdamentes tégelyeket. Jobb mint a sörös doboz :) ! Mivel a teteje baromi kemény, 89-es befőttestetőt rakok rá, ami, ha a széle fogóval össze van nyomva, pont rámegy. Valamikor lehet kapni több méretben is..
Úgy tűnik, hogy a munkamembrán szélességének a manson gép arányait kell másolnia,a tehát nagyjából a fele legyen a henger szélességéhez képest (pontosan 46%, ha jól emlékszem).

A lökethosszt nem csak a membrán, hanem a kiszorító hossza is. Tehát ha membránból  vedd figyelembe, hogy kb. mennyit fog tudni le-fel járni, és a kiszorító ennek megfelelő hosszú legyen. Tehát membránnál lehet játszani, csinálhatsz 5-20 mm hosszú löketű gépet, mert annyit tud kb. a membrán mozogni, és kiszorító ennek megfelelő hosszú legyen. Ha kisebb a löket, akkor gyorsabb a gép, kisebb hővel megy, és akkor rövidebb cső (levegő dugattyú) kell. Nagyobb löketű gépnél, marha hosszú cső kell, akár 3,5 méter is, ezért is, elsőre az 5-10 mm-es löketet ajánlom, de ne legyen hosszabb mint a munkamembrán szélességének a fele, mert onnantól romlik a gép. 
A kiszorítót fémgyapotból csinálom. A tengelyre rögzítek (elektromos sorkapoccsal, meg dróttal) két körlapot szitából, és ezek közé megy a fémszivacs. a henger falán kicsi legyen a súrlódása. A fémszivacsot bele teheted egy alul - fölül nyitott perselybe is, de akkor a persely és a kiszorító henger fala között nagyon kicsi legyen a rés, amilyen kicsire csak tudod csinálni, hogy ne ott, hanem a fémvattán menjen át a levegő.Ha finom fémszivacsot rackásítsad fel, és úgy csinálj belőle gomolyagot, tehát a regenerátoros kiszorító, legyen laza, így sokkal erősebb lesz a gép!Ha a kiszorító nem jó, akkor nem is működhet a gép, ha jó, akkor nagyon jó lesz! A kiszorító a gép lelke...
Ha nem működik akkor elsősorban el kell találni a légdugattyú, vagyis a cső hosszát, vagy rossz a kiszorító, vagy a membrán lazasága nem jó. A gép kifejezetten a membránt szereti... 
Kísérletezgethetsz, a munkamembrán (illetve a munkadugattyú), és a levegő dugattyú összehangolásával is. A munkamembránra rá kell kötni egy laprugót, pl. egy fűrészlapot, a levegődugattyú hosszát is be kell állítani. :
Nagyon egyszerű a modell!Néhány perc alatt elkészíthető...
Ha megcsináltátok osszátok meg a tapasztalatotokat velünk, meg egyszerűen azt a tényt, hogy megcsináltátok...
Ugyanakkor még nincsen sok tapasztalat, ez működik, de tuti ti jobbat csináltok, és ha többen megcsinálják akkor lesz tapasztalat arra, hogy hogy kell jól megcsinálni, méretezni, így egyre erősebb gépek születhetnek.
Sajnos nem nagyon csinálják meg, mert nem értik, hogy működhet egy gép, amin ekkora lyuk van. Pedig a csőben lévő levegőt kell csak egy dugattyúnak felfogni, és érthető lesz...
